Sample Test Cases for Pen

 It is often asked in interviewers to write the sample test cases for the pen . It becomes quite harder to write them unless we break the test cases down into multiple categories like – , specification, negative tests, usability tests and performance etc. So in this article, I’m sharing some of the sample test cases, both positive and negative, for the pen. 

Going through these test cases will  help you in understanding the process of making test case which you can use while creating test cases of any kind of application.

Performance Test Scenarios of pen 

1. Verify if tip or nib of the pen is not destroyed after continuous working for hours.
2. Verify how fast you can write with this pen.
3. Verify ‘How much can be written in one refill?’
4. Verify if the pen will perform the same even though you use continuously for hours.

Negative Test Cases for Pen

1. Check pen stress testing by dropping pen down from practical height and verify if something is breaking.
2. Keep the pen in water and try to write on paper. 
3. Hold the pen upwards direction for some time and try to write on paper. 
4. Check how pen is working at different climate conditions like at  different climate conditions,room temperature.

Usability Test Scenarios

1. Test if Pen is usable across different age  and by different Professionals like Doctors, lawyers, and Businessmen, etc
2.  Check pen has a firm grip, comfortable to hold, and does not slip while writing (even for a longer time, when finger and hands sweat).
3.  verify if ink leaks from refill when the pen is kept upside down for the longer duration. 
4. Test external material of the pen is made non-toxic material.
5. verify if the materials used in the pen is easily recyclable.
